So, I just returned from a demo I gave at Dell with 2 other robotics members. Just as in the Pond Springs demo, I was the main spokesperson, and the other 2 people were operating the robot.
What made this demo different was less what I did, and more how the employees reacted. They were much more interested in the software portion of our robot. What did we use to program, to CAD, to calculate. What did we use to make our robot as precise as possible.
Precision.
That is the key to our success this season. Planning : Drawings, CAD(Computer Aided Design)s, Prototypes. Then execution. We are going to practice precision machining, and have everyone we can fully tuned in to what is going on. That is the 2nd purpose of planning, cPublish Postommunication. People who are confused about ongoing designs can easily consult the latest drawing. We can analyze prototypes to see what we need to improve on when we get to the real design. And even though we won't ever have a "final product", because there will consistently be changes made to the bot, we will be a lot closer to a final, organized, and professional robot.

The Dell folks were very impressed with the amount of knowledge that you guys already own. I have had many comments about how incredible the robots were. Thanks for coming out for the demo and sharing. We had several folks sign up to help FIRST and we have a bunch of people trying to set up new teams at their schools.
